Library Director
Meet Shelly Cory, Director of the Dallas Center Library

Here's to a new year...  2020 was full of challenges for so many and I look forward to new beginnings in 2021.  January marks 10 years for me as the Library Director at the Estle Memorial Library.  It's been a great 10 years and I'm excited for the next 10!  Happy New Year!

Building Update:
We are all so excited about the progress of our addition and remodel project!  The brick on the exterior is complete and the trim is close to done.  My major concern about adding on to our building was aesthetics.  I was concerned about the building being so long and expressed those concerns to our architect, along with suggestions of varying roof lines and dormers.  I could not be more happy with the design.  Our beautiful library is bigger and better now!  Inside, the drywallers have been busy mudding and taping, and painting will begin soon.

Our Library Foundation continues to fundraise with about $53,000 left to raise for the project.  This number does not include furnishings, however we have applied for a grant and will apply for a couple more with the hope that grant proceeds will pay for bookcases and furniture.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us financially.  If you would like to donate to help us reach our goal, please feel free to contact the library for more information.  One hundred percent of the donations to the Dallas Center Library Foundation benefits this project.

Any donations can be made to:
Dallas Center Library Foundation

And dropped at the library or mailed to:
Estle Memorial Library  PO Box 521  Dallas Center, Iowa 50063

Stay tuned for more information and stay healthy!
Shelly Cory
